The month of September was all about switching things up in the beauty department. Some items were purchased due to the change in season while others were purchased out of need. No matter the reason for each of these products, they have all served great purpose and they have definitely become new staples in my beauty routine.

Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation: In the fall I like to use a foundation with a bit more coverage than I do in the summertime when a more natural look is my first choice. I’d heard so many great things about this foundation both through reviews and friends who also use it. After I wet my beauty blender in warm water and squeeze it out, I pump two drops of foundation into my warm hands and smooth in on my face starting with the bridge of my nose and working outwards to my neck and forehead. After the foundation is somewhat blended I go back in and fully blend it out with the beauty blender. I find that this gives a seamless, dewy finish that I’m so drawn to. This foundation is also great for building coverage so if I need a bit more I’m not scared to end up looking cakey. PS: my shade is 140 soft beige.

Schmidt’s Ylang-Ylang & Calendula Deodorant: If there is something I thought I’d never talk about on my blog it’s my arm pits, but I feel like this deodorant is worth having a little chat. I’ll admit I have a bit of a smelly demeanour and if I can find a deodorant that is both all natural and combats odour I’m all for it. I first heard about this deodorant while reading what I believe was an article on Instyle.com wherein the test subject tried out a bunch of natural deodorants for a month to find the best one. Her choice was Schmidt’s for best odour control…and with that I ordered it immediately. Although I’m not a huge fan of rubbing the formula on (there is a stick version) I have to say that this deodorant significantly reduces odour and has not irritated my sensitive skin once.

Nudestix Eyebrow Stylus Pencil and Gel: Normally when I find a product that I love I stick with it. That was the case with my Mac eyebrow pencil that I have been using for over 6 years…why fix a good thing? But if a product happens to get sent to me I figure I might as well give it a try. So when Nudestix’s new eyebrow pencil and gel showed up at my door I did exactly that. As soon as I used this pencil I immediately fell in love with the dual ended pencil/gel stick and the separate eyebrow wax that keeps my brows in place all day. I love a natural looking, bold brow and I found this pencil to give me exactly that without looking drawn on. I guess sometimes it is worth it to change things up a bit.
