September Beauty Favourites

October 4, 2017

Whoa, can you believe it has been 4 months since I’ve shared a monthly beauty favourites post!? Whoopsies. Originally, I’d intended to share a post each month (hence the title) sharing my new favourite beauty finds, but to be honest, during the past few months I hadn’t really been trying too many new products and so I didn’t  have anything that I felt was worth sharing. Anyway, we’re now in a new season and I always find myself trying out more new products once fall comes along. I’m happy to report that I have found a few new products that I have been absolutely loving as of late and I’m excited to share them with you today and hopefully, I’ll have some more for you next month!
Glossier Cloud Paint in Haze: When Glossier announced that they’d be hosting a week-long pop-up shop in Toronto, I was SO excited to finally be able to test out some of their products. After spending about an hour in the pop-up playing around, I ended up deciding on theHaloscope in Quartz and the Cloud Paint in Haze. While I’ve ended up not loving the Haloscope, I am completely obsessed with this punchy magenta colored cloud paint. I only need the tiniest amount for both of my cheeks and to apply, I simply blend it in with my fingers. It leaves my cheeks with the prettiest pink flush that’s impossible to mess up.
Essie “Wild Nudes” Collection: I don’t think that there has ever been a time in my life where I can honestly say that I’ve loved every single colour in a nail polish collection. However, the time has come my friends’ thanks to the Essie “Wild Nudes” collection. While these aren’t your typical nude shades they are muted enough to go with everything and I love mixing and matching the shades on my fingers and toes. from an army green that I can’t get enough of to the prettiest pink tones and a couple blue and grey options for good measure, I am obsessed with all of them! Here I’m wearing “Bare With Me” and have also featured “Exposed” (the army green) and “Clothing Optional” (the dusty rose).
SkinCeuticals Retexturizing Activator Replenishing Serum: Near the end of August I’d noticed that my skin, my forehead, in particular, had been breaking out in tiny bumps. I think that it had something to do with the humidity coupled with the fact my skin is naturally oily. I was getting so annoyed with the bumps and wasn’t exactly sure what to do about getting rid of them. Luckily, I went to an event where I was offered a SkinCeuticals mini-peel and the esthetician who gave me the facial suggested I try the SkinCeuticals Retexturizing Activator. The Retexturizing Activator is a super light, oil-free serum that exfoliates and hydrates simultaneously. I’ve been using this serum for about a month and the bumps on my forehead have significantly diminished while the rest of my face is as smooth as a baby’s bottom!
Benefit Foolproof Brow Powder: I’ve said time and time again that I rarely switch up my brow products because I’m such a die-hard fan of the MAC brow pencil. But this past year I’ve been completely converted to Benefit’s line of brow products. Most recently, I’ve fallen in love with the Foolproof Brow Powder. I typically start filling in the shape of my brows with Benefit’s Precisely, My Brow and to give my brows some real definition I finish with a swipe of the lighter shade of brow powder on the front of my brow and a swipe of the darker shade from the middle to ends I love how seamlessly the brush glides through my eyebrow and how perfectly matched the colours are to my eyebrows. This product has seriously up’d my eyebrow game!
