What I Wore to WMCFW: Day 3 Dreamboat Lucy

March 20, 2014

I was so excited and thankful when sisters Louanna and Hilary Murphy of Dreamboat Lucy graciously allowed me to wear a look from their spring/summer 2014 collection. I have been dying over this collection since I saw their show at the Mercedes-Benz Start Up show last year at Toronto Fashion week (review here). I was obsessed with the tropical Barbie theme of the show and would have loved to be able to wear more of DBL this fashion week especially those fun pineapple prints, but the weather was just not going to permit it. I ended up choosing my favourite look from their collection, this adorable windowpane printed two piece jacket and skirt. I love a good matching suit and this one has so many sweet details like the gingham print inside the jacket and on the trim of the skirt, and the flirty slit on the skirt that I couldn’t say no! I styled the suit with a leather jacket, knee-high boots and tights to toughen up its super girly vibe and so I would stay warm in the rain. I loved the juxtaposition of this outfit but would love it just as much left as is in the summer with just a pair of wedges or sandals.
