Irish Soda Bread

When my sisters first moved to Toronto we would all make it a bi-weekly event to get breakfast at the George Street Diner. There are a lot of delicious options on their menu but one that I always kept going back to was the “Irish Breakfast” that included eggs, beans and Irish Soda Bread. While searching for something to make for St. Patrick’s Day this year that delicious bread came back to my memory and so I searched for a version to make my own. I ended up finding out that there is quite the debate on Irish Soda bread and so many versions that aren’t actually Irish.  I then found that classic Irish Soda Bread actually only needs 4 ingredients to make (flour, buttermilk, baking soda, salt and optional caraway seeds). This bread is so simple to make but it taste is anything but.
