February Beauty Favourites

February 14, 2017

Can you believe that we are already in the middle of February (spring please hurry up)! Unfortunately, with all the Christmas madness, I didn’t get a chance to do a January beauty favourites post, so I decided that this month I’d just share a few products that I’ve been loving from the new year to now. I haven’t actually been trying that many new products since Christmas because I was in Halifax well into January and only ended up bringing one new product to test with me, the Tata Harper Purifying mask which you will see below. Other than that, the 2 other products here are new to me for February and I am completely obsessed. I hope you enjoy my January/February beauty faves as much as I have been!

Tata Harper Purifying Mask: In my opinion, Tata Harper is the Rolls Royce of all natural beauty products, so it comes as no surprise that her purifying mask has quickly made its way to the top of my face mask list. Previous to trying the purifying mask I’d only ever used the Tata Harper Resurfacing mask, (a favourite among Tata Harper fans) and while I do enjoy using that mask, I never felt that my skin saw any tangible results from it. After receiving the purifying mask as part of a 3 piece holiday set back in December, I decided to switch things up and give it a try. As soon as I put the purifying mask on my face I knew that it was going to become a new favourite. Living in a city like Toronto means that my skin becomes easily affected by the pollution in the air and this purifying mask is worth its weight in gold when it comes to fixing that. It purges impurities, drawing out built up pollutants that can sink deep into my pores, and helps with acne and hyperpigmentation. My skin feels so clean and tingly after each use which is why this mask has become a bi-weekly ritual that I have consistently been looking forward to for over a month now.

Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer: There’s really not much I can say about this blow-dryer except where have you been all of my life!? Dyson, the brand known for the most innovative vacuums and fans recently came out with their first hair styling product and has literally “blown” every other hair dryer out of the water. From cutting my blow-dry time in half to the light-weight and low sound, this blow dryer is one that I feel absolutely everyone needs. I could go on but I really don’t think you’d understand until you’ve used it for yourself.smashbox, smashbox cover shot eye palette, smashbox cover shot eye palette, smashbox cover shot eye palettes, smashbox cover shot eye paletteste, smashbox cover shot eye palette golden hour, smashbox cover shot eye palette golden hour
Smashbox Cover Shot Eye Palette in Golden Hour: First of all, CLEARLY I need to invest in a ring light because dang do they ever make your makeup and skin look incredible. Secondly, I wanted to share this photo of me wearing the Smashbox Cover Shot eye palette in Golden Hour because I was lucky enough to have it applied professionally and wanted to show you how amazing it looks when a pro gets their hands on it (and because I’m sure some of you would be able to re-create this look). Lastly, even though this was applied by a professional, I love using these compact palettes because they are so user-friendly, even for a makeup novice like myself. The colours are so pigmented and blendable, and they all work together so well that even if you use every single shade in the palette (so far my I’ve tried this with Golden Hour and Softlights) it will still end up looking the bomb-dot-com! Golden Hour has been my go-to palette as of late for the simple fact that I find the rose, gold and plum shades work really well with my skin tone and my wardrobe, it can be worn soft during the day and easily transform into a smoky, sexy look for the night.
