Summer is officially here which means that an easy beauty routine is a must.

This month I have been loving a bright swipe of colour on my cheeks, a barely there pink lipstick, mousse that gives my hair Blake Lively status, and a sunscreen that smells anything but. I hope you enjoy my beauty faves for the month of June.

Beauty Counter Powder Blush Duo in Flamingo/Apricot: I was recently introduced to the US brand, Beauty Counter and have to say have been loving their products. Every product in the Beauty Counter collection is marked as safe which means although they aren’t necessarily all natural, they don’t have harsh ingredients that could potentially be damaging to your body. My favourite products that I’ve tried so far have been their Citrus Mimosa Body Wash, Sheer Lipstick in Coral and of course this Powder Blush Duo in Flamingo/Apricot. This blush is highly pigmented which I love because in the summer there is nothing like a bright pop of colour on the cheeks against tanned, dewy skin. This blush is also very buildable and blends nicely so I can add/take away as I go.

Kérastase Mousse Bouffante: Though in a few of these photos my hair is looking a little limp from sweating it out in the sunshine all day, this mousse bouffante from Kérastase has been a wonder-worker when it comes to adding volume to my hair as of late. I’ve never been one to add mousse into my hair when prepping for a blow dry, but after a recent visit to Medulla & Co. I really noticed the difference mousse can make. I gave Kérastase’s mousse bouffante a try this month and have to say all of my dreams of Blake Lively esque hair have been coming true ever since. This light weight mousse really lives up to the expectation of creating bombshell body and a light, bouncy feeling. I also really just enjoy the feeling of working a fluffy mousse through my hair…is that weird?

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Pink in the Afternoon: I am forever searching for the perfect pink lipstick, and when I want a budget safe option, Revlon’s Super Lustrous collection is always my go-to. I’ve never been let down when it comes to pigment, comfortable wear on my lips and colour that lasts with this collection. Recently I was headed to an event where I was wearing a bold blue printed dress and I wanted a subtle wash of pink on my lips that was visible but not overbearing. I ran over to our local Shoppers Drug Mart, swatched a few shades of pink and ended up loving the colour Pink in the Afternoon. It is perfectly pigmented, matte pink colour was everything I was looking for in a lipstick for that particular event. I’ve since worn this shade basically everyday as I find it matches with everything, it’s a no fail.

Rocky Mountain Soap Company Vanilla Coconut Natural Sunscreen: I’ll admit it, sunscreen is a step that I normally leave out, even though I know that I shouldn’t. I simply don’t like how sunscreen feels on my skin and the smell is usually way too strong. I recently came across this vanilla coconut sunscreen from Rocky Mountain Soap Co. and I knew it would be worth giving a try for the scent alone. Not only does it smell incredible but it’s also 100% natural which means I don’t have to worry about all of the chemicals that some other non-natural brands of sunscreen consist of. at first, the dark grey colour was a bit intimidating but I sound the sunscreen to rub in smoothly. It also doesn’t leave streaky white marks like other sunscreens do and it even has shea butter, which means this sunscreen doubles as a moisturizer.
