The Rules of White

November 11, 2013

I really do think that there is a huge misconception about wearing white after labour day. So many people I have talked to or heard, say white in the fall is a definite no-no. Even as soon as my boyfriend saw me in these white pants he said “what, you’re wearing white after labour day?” So I can only assume that’s what others will think. But honestly, when paired with a heavier flannel top that couldn’t be more fall, a tweed jacket and dark pumps, I think the look instantly transitions a white pair of pants that I purchased in summer to a go-to outfit for fall. So go ahead, and wear white now and throughout the winter, and then go a step further and rock winter white options like these

What I’m Wearing: Jeans; H&M // Flannel Shirt; Mink Pink // Jacket; J.Crew // Pumps; Sam Edelman // Bag; Rachel Zoe // Necklace; Fossil // Ring; Tiffany & Co.

I very much agree with you Miss Blondielocks…if worn right white can be present anytime of the year…Yes there are rules that the Fashion Gods has put on this earth for us to abide by, but fashion is also an avenue for people to express themselves….kind of like a virtual way to paint a picture. So that being said people should not be afraid to wear white, just wear it right like Miss Blondielocks;)
