Sunshine Set

July 17, 2017

Happy Monday Friends! I guess the first item to check off my agenda before getting into my outfit is apologizing for not posting on Friday. I think that last Friday was the first time I have ever not posted a “Highs and Lows“, but to be completely honest, last week was unbelievably difficult for me to get through and I just could not muster up the strength or courage to write a recap of my week. If you’ve been reading then you know that my cousin, Farrell, passed away a few weeks ago, and last week I flew home to attend his funeral. The realization of his death coupled with all the memories I shared with him over the years were flooding in all at once and I simply felt like it was better to just not post. I needed to clear my mind this weekend, which I did, but I am still having a hard time with this one. Death is already one of the most difficult, if not the most difficult of subjects to comprehend, but when it comes to grieving for someone who lost their life way to young, it becomes a whole other story. I’ve tried my absolute hardest to stay positive and talk about Farrell and what his life meant to me every day, and while it has helped,  I do think that time is the only thing that is going to ease the ache that I feel in my heart. And with that, I appreciate you all being so understanding with the missed post and for allowing me this safe space to talk about my feelings.

On another note, Jamie and I had a ton of work to complete after I arrived home on Friday afternoon. I ended up loosing a day of work because of flight delays so Saturday was the only day I had to squeeze in as much work as I could before we left again on Sunday for a Trip to Fox Harb’r Resort with Porter Airlines. Saturday morning we woke up early and headed down to the Toronto Flower Market to pick up some blooms and shoot some photos of this yellow gingham two piece that I think is the sweetest summer outfit that there ever was. To be honest, it’s not the best of quality (it was $30 after all) but for an easy to wear, no fuss, on-trend set, it is perfect! I received so many compliments from other women while I was wearing this and they were all so shocked at the price. Literally all of them said, “I’m going home to order that!“, which I found so funny. I’m not typically one to order “cheap” clothes but something about this set had me at hello.

What I’m Wearing: Gingham Set (here) // Sandals (here) // Straw Boater (here) // Basket Bag; (similar)
