Free People and Foliage

In the past 6 years we have spent hundreds of hours making the drive from Toronto to Halifax and then back again (okay, Jamie has done the driving but I’m still in the car). That’s Hundreds of hours of repeated songs on the radio, hundreds of hours singing 99 Bottles of Beer On The Wall, and hundreds of hours in which I’ve sat in the passenger’s seat wondering why the heck we don’t just start taking a plane. Jamie did grow up in a family where motor-vehicles are quite literally their day job and I’m also pretty sure he could drive before he could walk, but my goodness that sure is a lot of time! Anyway, I’m back in Toronto now and couldn’t be more excited about what the summer has to offer!

As I’m sure you know by now, whenever I’m back on the East Coast I make it a point to spend a few hours by the ocean. There’s just something so peaceful about breathing in the fresh salt air, staring out into the endless sea of blue and watching the waves crash at the shore. Ever since I purchased this Free People dress from Blossom Lounge way back in February I’ve been dreaming of wearing it by the ocean. The light cream colour, subtle print and flowy, kimono style silhouette is my ideal walking along the beach dress. Up until a few days ago, the only place I had been able to wear it was around our house for this photoshoot so you can imagine my happiness when I was finally able to slip this dress this week. On another note I also received this beautiful basket that belonged to Jamie’s grandmother this week. I can’t wait to bring it back to Toronto and find a permanent place for it, but I couldn’t help first filling it up with foliage and pairing it with this dress.
