Real And Ruffled

August 21, 2017

I genuinely can’t believe that we’re nearing the end of August and that next Monday we’ll be heading back to Toronto yet again! As you can probably imagine, one of the best parts about spending summers in Nova Scotia is having full access to the beaches, and I’ve been making every effort to visit them. This weekend was quite rainy and foggy but the air was extremely humid so I still figured the best way to cool down would be a trip to the beach, fog and all. I’d been dying to wear this swimsuit I ordered online a couple of weeks ago from Aerie as it’s just so darn pretty (that back though!). I’m such a huge advocate for Aerie and their Aerie Real campaign and have been for years! It feels so good to shop online for a bathing suit and see women of all shapes and sizes, stretch marks, cellulite all left unretouched. When I wear an Aerie swimsuit, I feel beautiful because I know that my dimples and stretch marks are normal and something to celebrate and so of course, I have not airbrushed these photos whatsoever! It’s so important to celebrate what we have, even if we’re not 100% comfortable all of the time, and that’s exactly what I did with these photos. On another note, I wanted to quickly touch on this beach mat from Sea and Grass. I am always looking for a stylish beach mat that’s big enough for 2 and easy to tote around and this one is definitely it!
