Finished in Lace

June 29, 2017

As you might already know from last Fridays post, Jamie and I have been on the hunt for a wedding venue while we’re here in Halifax. It’s our goal to book something before we leave next week so we’ve been driving from place to place in search of our ideal location. A couple of days ago, we took a drive out to Chester to check out some venues and found the cutest little loop around driveway to stop and take photos. I just loved how the light was hitting the ground from the trees and the white fence with flowers and foliage added to its charm. The tiny driveway was home to about 4 adorable houses that were all named after something of the sea. One was “Salt Air”, another “Sea Shanty”, and the one we took photos in front of was called “Marronmer”, which we didn’t know the meaning of so we assumed it’s a sailor’s term or perhaps the name of the family that lives there. I wore this feminine, lace hem dress for our little trip to Chester which made me feel a bit more dressed up than I typically look in the summertime. I also don’t wear a lot of dark colours like navy or black in the summer but I love the black piping and black lace hem on this dress. The subtle floral print and pleating make it feel light enough for the summer and when paired with a dusty rose heel and light, straw tote it brightens up the look.
