Short Suited

May 4, 2017

In my line of work, it is rare that I have to show up to a meeting or to an event wearing office-appropriate attire. As you can imagine, trousers, button-downs, and pencil skirts are few and far between in my closet. While I don’t necessarily have to dress in formal office wear, I do like to make an effort to look “work appropriate”, especially if I have a meeting with a brand or potential client. I came across this Joe Fresh top and short combo a few weeks ago and just loved how it felt like a dressed up version of shorts and a t-shirt. The matching tweed suit channels Chanel and looks so much more high-end than it actually is (just look at the sleeve and hem fringe!). I can totally see myself opting for this “suit” over a dress for meetings in the hot summer months or wearing it as separates to change-up the look. In this instance, I layered a little ruffle tank underneath my top, just to break up the tweed-on-tweed, but other than that this is such a no-brainer work outfit for me.
