This past week my Facebook, Twitter and Instagram have been filled with friends from back home partaking in “Halifax Burger Week”. Since everyone on my social media feeds have been posting pictures of their delicious burger concoctions (that I am not able to partake in) I decided that I would try a gourmet burger of my own. I found this recipe after doing some serious burger research and really liked the idea of a sausage burger instead of beef (although my boyfriend would disagree). The garlic spinach was the perfect addition the burgers but instead of just adding the red pepper and mayo I made an aioli (roasted red pepper, garlic, cayenne) and added avocado. The burgers were sweet, spicy and full of flavour, so TAKE THAT Halifax Burger Week.
