My 30th Birthday Party

September 13, 2021

Happy Monday my friends! I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. It is definitely starting to feel like fall around here and I’m so looking forward to all that the upcoming season has to offer. Before I get into full fall mode, I wanted to share my 30th Birthday party from a few weeks ago with you! I’ve always wanted to have a really big thirtieth birthday party. Jamie and I had always talked about traveling somewhere together for our 30th birthdays since they are so close,` but since we have a toddler, a breastfed baby, and are in a pandemic, it didn’t make sense right now. So, instead of traveling somewhere just the two of us, I decided to throw my own birthday party because I LOVE party planning.

It might sound a little strange to you that I planned my own birthday party, but seriously you guys, it was more fun for me to plan this than attend it, haha! It was almost like a big birthday present to myself and I couldn’t have been happier with how everything turned out and having those who I love so dearly be able to enjoy this day with me.

I rented the A-Frame on Fletcher for my party after mulling back and forth between a couple of options. I had originally wanted to do a long table dinner at a restaurant but that option became expensive and the A-frame popped in my head with days to spare and it ended up being the perfect location! My colour theme was a mix of blues and pinks and I also added a lot of floral elements because flowers are everything to me. All of the vendors (listed below) knocked it out of the park and everything came together better than I had imagined it in my head. If I could give one tip for planning a party, it would be to make a mood board beforehand and be very specific with any details you want. This way everything will match and look cohesive throughout.

For food and drinks, I turned the island at the A-Frame into a huge charcuterie spread, two of my aunts each made a delicious salad, and we ordered a bunch of pizzas for Morris East. It was easy, impactful, and oh so delicious! We also had the yummiest cake and cookies for dessert…they were almost too pretty to eat (almost). For drinks, we served a bunch of local wine options from Lightfoot & Wolfville and Benjamin Bridge (my two faves). We also picked up lots of Georgian Bay tequila smash’s and they were a hit!

I wore a dress from Reformation which was literally my dream dress. It fit so well and actually was the jumping-off point for my inspiration for the party.

And that’s pretty much it! I’ll let the photos speak for themselves. All of the vendor details are below and of course, if you have any questions or I’ve missed anything, please feel free to comment below or shoot me an email.
