A few years ago shorts were all that I wore during the summer months.
I had lace shorts, silk shorts, colourful denim shorts (not cute, I know) and everything in between. Flash forward a few years and dresses have taken over my closet as my summer clothing of choice. But every once in a while I’ll find a pair of shorts that I feel are worth picking up, as was the case with these striped linen shorts from Blossom Lounge. On the hanger they look a bit intimidating, sort of like Seventies hot pants, but when I tried them on I was pleasantly surprised. They were short without being overt and I loved that they’re high-waisted so they tuck in my creamsicle pooch from over indulging on Nation Ice Cream Day. I also can’t say no to stripes and the muted tones on this particular pair scream summer.
