A Cold (But Cozy) Winter Walk in Tuck Shop Trading Co.

January 4, 2018

For a lot of people, New Year’s Day consists of relaxing and recovering from New Year’s Eve festivities the night before. Of course, lazing around on January first is absolutely warranted, but this year I wanted to do something a little different to celebrate the beginning of 2018. Myself, Jamie and my sisters all woke up early on Monday morning and drove out to Conrad’s Beach to enjoy a sandy walk paired with hot chocolate. Admittedly, it was FREEZING at the beach (kudos to those who can do a polar bear dip because I think I’d literally go into shock) but it truly did feel like we kicked the year off on the right foot.

Jamie and I also wanted to have some photos taken with our new Tuck Shop jackets that we were graciously gifted before Christmas. We’ve both been wearing these coats so much (here’s another snap of Jamie wearing his) but only just got around to taking photos of us in them together on Monday. I’ve been a huge fan of Tuck Shop since 2014 when I first learned about the brand when I was working at Blossom Lounge. Jamie and I actually did a shoot together years ago wearing 2 of our other favorite Tuck Shop coats and hats. I find it so funny because that post was actually the first time Jamie appeared on the blog with me.

Unfortunately, the photos from the post seem to be broken but I will try to re-upload them, link and re-share this post when I get them fixed as they’re totally worth clicking over too. We look so silly and young but the coats are just as gorgeous as these and I’d love for you to click over and see the difference in our photography skills, haha!

Anyway! I just love how these photos turned out and find that the colors of our coats look so pretty against the moody Nova Scotia beach. I’m obsessed with my new pink City Coat. I debated back and forth between the beige or pink but ultimately decided that the pink was more special and is definitely more “me”.  The City Coat is also made of Woolrich wool and is made in Canada which means the quality can’t be beaten.

Jamie actually already has the Cottage Coat he’s wearing here in navy. He bought back in 2014 and has worn it countless times throughout the last few years. He loves the coat so much in fact that he decided on the neutral plaid option for himself too. He actually decided to go for it in a size down this time though so that it’s more fitted than his navy coat.

I am so happy to have been able to partner with Tuck Shop Trading Co. on this post and rep a truly amazing Canadian Brand. If you love these coats as much as I do be sure to follow Tuck Shop on Instagram and definitely check out their website for even more beautiful Canadian goodies. I’m currently lusting after one of their cashmere toques and the City of Neighborhoods Toronto tote bag.

PS: I’ll link the other post I mentioned above when I get it fixed but here’s another post of me wearing a Tuck Shop bather last summer.
