Oh’ Christmas Tree

November 17, 2016

There’s really nothing that would have made me more excited about the holiday seasons arrival than driving outside of the city to a Christmas tree farm. So, that is exactly what Jamie and I did last weekend before the Christmas tree cutting season officially kicked off. At first Jamie was a little apprehensive about driving an hour and a half outside of the city to visit a Christmas tree farm, but after coaxing him with the promise that he’d be serenaded with all of the holiday songs he was pretty much sold. I was soooo excited to head out to the Madeira Christmas Tree Farm because for one I had never been to a Christmas tree farm and two, I had chatted to the Madeira family previously on the phone and they were just so darn welcoming. I love it when I can make a connection with someone before even meeting them, and when we arrived we were greeted with the warmest of hugs and tour of the beautiful, massive farm. Typically by this time in November I’d be bundled up in my parka, especially out in the country but it was such a beautiful day that I was able to wear what I consider to be the perfect holiday-casual look. Gap, Banana Republic and Old Navy have single (triple?) handedly made dressing and gift giving a breeze this year and I am so excited to be partnering with them today to share with you what I love to wear during the holiday season as well as some great gifting options for her, him, mom, dad and the kids. For me, if I’m not dressing up for a glamorous holiday party I like to keep things casual yet festive with fun basics like this vintage inspired striped sweater, classic skinny jeans, gold flats, an amazing coat and a cheery red scarf. I find this look to not only be comfortable but festive in a playful, yet understated way. As for gifting I’ve picked out a few pieces from Gap, Banana Republic and Old Navy for everyone in the family. Keep reading to see what I’m loving this holiday season and shop the post below. Happy holiday shopping!
