Max-Farmers-Market-FEATURE

For those of you who don’t know or don’t follow me on social media … with the help of so many amazing people (I will go into further detail below) we were able to pull off a beautiful sip and see on Sunday for my cousin Tori and her sweet little boy Max. Tori and Max both mean the absolute world to me. Tori (my cousin, but actually my sister) always does so much for me, is always there for me and is so thoughtful in everything that she does, I wanted to be able to reciprocate in some way and surprise her with something above and beyond what she could have ever imagined. If you DO follow me on social media then I’m sure you saw some pretty amazing sneak peaks and can’t wait to continue reading below. I am dishing out ALL of the details on HOW we made it all possible, who was involved and am giving you some ideas on how you can plan your own ….

You may be thinking … how is Jilly filming two shows, living in two places, running a blog, almost 8 months pregnant yet still has time to pull together a baby shower for her cousin??? To be honest I was SO busy and I wanted to plan something so amazing I knew that I couldn’t do it by myself so I called Yuriko from Vintage Origami. Yuriko has been planning events for our family for years so it was a no-brainer to have her help out with this one too. We had some incredible vendors help pull it all together so make sure you take note of them at the end of this post!

One of the hardest parts for me about planning a shower or celebration is figuring out the theme. It’s hard to stick to ONE thing and not venture too far from it. Sometimes you need to dig deeper than others and take into consideration people’s style, hobbies, and interests. In this case, I was planning a baby shower (actually a sip & see) for Tori. If you don’t know Tori from Fraiche Nutrition, she is so knowledgeable with food and health and so inspiring in the kitchen. It didn’t take us long to come up with this food-related theme considering she is a dietician and loves everything food related, FRESH, and local. The Okanagan is known for their fruit orchards and farmer’s markets so this theme couldn’t have been more fitting.

It really is all in the details … from the rustic props, the consistency of colours and textures and little ‘pun’ intended sayings throughout … everything came together better than I imagined. The entire setup was amazing (it would look fantastic in any setting), but the Sanctuary Gardens in West Kelowna (where it was held) was absolutely breathtaking!! You will see what I mean in these photos below!!!

Max being Tori’s second child meant he already had everything he needed, so we wanted to make sure rather than guests bringing gifts, instead they donated to Mamas for Mamas – a registered non-profit organization that supports mothers in crisis, and provides ongoing support to low income mothers.

So a REALLY BIG thank you to all the amazing vendors that were a part of this very special day!!

This is seriously dreamy. AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING. It is all in the details. I also love the pictures of Mama and baby, precious keepsakes. As well as the picture of you and your mom (and baby bump) 🙂

Hi Jillian, my name is Michelle. You so kindly shared my husbands story on Facebook back in February when we were trying to fundraise to get him to Texas for his leukemia treatment. I just wanted to thank you so much for sharing our story. We made it to MD Anderson Cancer Center and defied all odds in May when my husband got into remission. On July 12th he had his stem cell transplant, which will hopefully be a cure for his leukemia. I just wanted to thank you for your kindness and wish you all the best for you and your family. You’re going to be an amazing mom! Also, the shower looked beautiful! I have really enjoyed browsing your website and Instagram; your style is just beautiful. Wishing you all the best!
