I’ve always been a proponent for shopping local and purchasing from makers when and if I can. Thankfully, Etsy has made doing just that so convenient by corralling makers from all over the world and allowing them to share their shops and stories. Just like for our wedding, where we chose many decor pieces from Etsy, I wanted Edwin’s nursery to include lots of special, handmade items that he will grow with. Some of my favourite items he owns such as his “You are my sunshine” wall hanging, and cashmere stuffed bunny, are from Etsy and so I thought it was only fitting to highlight a few of my favourite Etsy shops for babies. While I’ve only just scratched the surface when it comes to all of the incredible baby items available on Etsy, I have rounded up some of mine and Edwin’s favourite Etsy shops below in hopes that you love them too! Mrs. Jini Design: From cozy blankets and baby pillow to the sweetest bunny toys, Mrs. Jini offers some of the sweetest, softest and stylish baby goods out there.
Atelier Saint Cerf: I love wooden toys for babies and these toys in particular have the cutest designs and eco-friendly finishes. I obviously ordered the fox toy for Edwin Fox but I am in love with the little race cars and the “hippie” van which I’m likely going to order when Edwin is a little older.
Little Rose & Co. On the topic of wooden toys, Little Rose & Co. makes the most adorable wooden cameras that I simply couldn’t pass up (hello, blogger/photographers over here!). I ordered the white version, but love that the cameras come in so many fun colours. I can’t wait to see Edwin pick up this Camera and start “snapping pictures” just like his mommy and daddy. Little Rose & Co. also has some really cute laster cut wooden signs and other wooden toy selections that I love!
Pali Handmade: Admittedly, I am that mama who loves to see her baby in a bonnet…it’s just too much cute! I really like the Pali Handmade linen bonnets as they’re so classic and I love anything done in a linen. unfortunately, this bonnet was too small for Edwin (he has a big head) so I’d suggest sizing up.
Happy Sunday Studio: Edwin’s “You are my Sunshine” wall hanging was a verrry last minute addition to his nursery and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. I ended up purchasing a custom wall hanging so I could have the colours I wanted (I was inspired by the jumpsuit he’s wearing in the first photo above). I love cheeky signs and sayings and think that if you can have one made in colours that suit exactly the style you’re going for…even better!

La Petit Alice: I had this linen romper with carrot embroidery bookmarked for Edwin for Easter while he was still in my belly! I just love that these rompers can be embroidered with many options from carrots to mushrooms and even a little acorn. Aside from rompers, La Petit Alice offers linen shirts, dresses and even some really cute linen options for adults!

Cloth and Main: Though not necessarily marketed towards babies, we ordered 2 pillows from Cloth and Main for Edwin’s nursery because they worked so well with the design. Whether you’re buying these pillows for a nursery or any room in your home, you will not be disappointed with the quality and beautiful, on trend designs.

Pilosale: I couldn’t resign the “ABC” pillow with the pocket that fits a tiny bear toy and I knew it was going to be a speical addition to Edwin’s room. When he’s a little older, I’m defintiely going to be picking up the tooth fairy pillow for him.

Hello Birdie Birdie: Every nursery needs a mobile and there are some seriously CUTE options on the market these days! Some of my favourites are from Hello Birdie Birdie. Edwin has the woodland mobile but there are so many cute ones…the flamingo and llama mobiles kill me!
Ewe Made New: Of course, Edwin needed a crochet fox toy in his collection! He has sooo many cute fox stuffies but I just love this particular one with the big head and tiny body. Ewe Made New is a Nova Scotia based Etsy company and I really wanted to include a super local shop to us in this round up.
The Urban Hedgehog: From rattles to mobiles, pillows and toys, the Urban Hedgehog offers fun modern and minimalistic designs for babies that I just adore.
Pompon Design: This is one of my most favourite Etsy shops for babies but unfortunately, she will be closing soon! This cashmere bunny is one of Edwin’s most special stuffies and I also recently ordered 2 popsicle rattles for him as the shop is currently offering 50% off.
Éparpillées: Lastly, Éparpillées is yet another Etsy shop that sells the sweetest stuffed toys that are oh so unique. This little fawn just melts my heart! Be sure to scoop up your favourite stuffed animal from Éparpillées quick though because they go fast!

This past Sunday, I celebrated my first Mother’s Day. It’s still hard to believe as just last year being a mom was the furthest thing from my mind! However, a little over a month later (July 2nd to be exact) I found out I was pregnant and the rest they say, is history. My first Mother’s Day was made so special by Jamie and Edwin. Jamie made me the most delicious breakfast and gifted me flowers and the sweetest ring that says “mama”. We then went to the Almonak for a late brunch and ended the day with a lovely walk around Point Pleasant Park (I changed outfits for that). I was so happy to have some time to get dressed up and take a long shower, haha! I picked this dress up from Gap a few weeks after giving birth and it was finally warm enough to wear it, yay! Pretty much everything I wear has to have buttons or be easily accessible for breastfeeding, so this dress was the perfect option. It’s quite form fitting and I wasn’t sure I’d feel comfortable in it at first as my hips are wider than they were before, but I actually loved the way this dress made my new shape look!

On another note, I listened to Lauren Conrad’s new podcast, Asking For a Friend, yesterday. The first episode was about becoming a first time mom and the “rise of Instagram moms”. Lauren and her first guest, Leslie Ann Bruce who is the author of “you are a f*cking awesome mom” were talking about “Instagram” moms and how they always have some sort of boho braid and their child in a bonnet. I laughed out loud because I knew I had this post coming out today and of course, my hair is in a braid! Side note: still with my long shower I didn’t wash my hair…so braid + hat it was! Also, once we finished photos I looked over to Jamie and said “AWWW SHOOT, I had a cute bonnet I wanted Edwin to wear for these photos but I forgot it at home!”. So basically, I am the “Instagram mom”, haha! HOWEVER, I still want to keep it real by saying that an outfit like this is now a 10% of the time occurrence. 90% of the time I’m in leggings, my hair hasn’t been washed and it’s in a bun, and I am covered in spit up, poo and have leaky boobs (sorry if TMI!). So basically, what I’m trying to say, is that Instagram really only shows 10% of what our lives actually look like and my friends, this is a highlight reel of my weekend. There was still a crying baby to soothe and, laundry to fold at the end of the day!

Popping in to share an outfit I wore recently to a family members baby shower. It was so lovely outside last Saturday, the perfect day for a baby shower and such a great excuse to dress up! I’ve been living in jumpsuits since having Edwin as I just find them so easy to throw on and go and they still look stylish. It’s a bonus if they have buttons for breastfeeding purposes. I’m so happy that the spring blooms are starting to poke through, I’m not sure what these yellow flowers are but they’re EVERYWHERE and I love it. I’ve also started to spot lots of magnolia trees on the verge of blooming and I can’t wait!

What I’m Wearing: Old Navy Jumpsuit (similar) // Basket Bag (similar) // Sunglasses (here) // Tiny Zen Memory necklace c/o (here)
