Shop Owner

As a grad student in England, our founder unearthed her love of all things botanic while moonlighting, cleaning flowers at dawn to help pay the rent. Stripping, cutting, and bundling blooms into market bunches and hand tied bouquets, she found her fine arts career re-directed by the romance and peace of working with flowers. That presence informs our approach to everything we do at Quince.

Rosie is interested in good people, great communities, growing flowers in the backyard, tea drinking, book reading, and nesting with her wife Monica and their two growing boys.  She welcomes visitors to our shop, enquiries, and collaborations of all sorts.

Genevieve Bismonte

Wedding and Events manager * Colour Curator

Genevieve’s firm grounding in floral design is an extension of her life-long love of nature, inspired by childhood landscapes in the Philippines then in Canada. Genevieve studied at the Ontario College of Art and Design, then floristry at Seneca College. She came to Quince Flowers on a student placement & felt she had found a home.  A follower of fashion and interior design, a painter and homemaker, Genevieve’s creative range is continuously expanding. Her love of colour, from intensely saturated to vintage palates, draws on these interests.  As if being on her feet all day in the shop were not enough, Genevieve also teaches and studies dance in her spare time.

Valerie Marchand

General Manager * Floral Oracle

A small town girl at heart, Valerie was drawn to the energy of the arts scene in Toronto but never forgot her roots. She grew up around flowers as her mother had a job at a local flower shop.  She remembers the sense of camaraderie and community among the women who worked there and remain family friends, the colours of the ribbons, the scents of cuttings and plants, and the novelty of a walk-in fridge. Valerie studied Fine Art at Georgian College then settled in Toronto’s East end. She is particularly passionate about the intersection of fine arts and floristry and understands flowers as a sculptural medium.  Val sees her job as an extension of her fine arts practice as well as her professional career.
