DIY: Canvas Wall Art

Last week when my sister was on study break, she came up with a great idea for painting canvases to add a little bit of colour into our home. I was all for turning our living room into a paint studio for the afternoon and so we began making these striped, color blocked paintings. Using blank canvases, acrylic paint and items from around the house like colored paper, washi tape and glitter we roughly measured out lines on the canvases and painted them in using the acrylic paint. Once the paint dried we glued either washi tape, newspaper or colored paper over top of the lines we drew. The great thing about this DIY is that the painted lines don’t have to be perfectly straight as  adding the tape and papers over top  does that job for you. I had a great time making these with my sister and I loved how using simple, inexpensive items from around our house made something so unique and stylish.
