Comfortably Fall

October 3, 2013

1-1
So the question on my mind these last few days is (and I’m sure you are also asking it too) how in the world am I supposed to try to look “in season” when the season that it is supposed to be has yet to make an appearance? The answer? First off, buy new shoes. I’m positive that will help, I’ve tested the theory. After posting my fall wish-list last week, I knew the one item I had to have were these heels from Sam Edelman. They are totally appropriate for this 25 degree weather we are currently experiencing, but the colour and pony hair texture are very fall. Secondly, begin to incorporate fall fabrics with lighter, summery ones. For instance a leather t-shirt pairs perfectly with a light boyfriend jean and looks very unexpected and fall appropriate. And the best part? It is comfy! Until fall actually starts allowing for heavier knits (besides here when the temperature freakishly dropped) Stick with mixing and matching your new fall pieces with lighter fabrics from summer. Don’t worry, before you know it you will be hiding your outfit under a parka and won’t have to worry about this in-between season nonsense.

PS; If you are in Toronto tomorrow be sure to check out Sam Edelman at the Bay on Queen Street from 5-7 and follow along on twitter using the hashtag #shopwithsam. Toronto bloggers Nelia Belkva (styleblog.ca) and Sharon (backseatstylers.com) will be there trying shoes on and helping shoe shoppers pick out their perfect pair of Edelmans!
