Candy Cane Floats

Recently I was pleasantly greeted with the the holiday edition of Food & Drink Magazine. I absolutely love holiday inspired dinner and drink recipes, so I immediately began flipping through the magazine and circled the recipes I was intrigued by and the ones that I absolutely wanted to make. One drink recipe, probably the only non-alcoholic one in the magazine, that caught my eye was the Candy Cane Float. It felt perfect for a night of decorating and getting into the Christmas spirit. If you are looking for something that tastes great but also makes you feel like a kid at Christmas then this is the drink for you.

Peppermint extract (use a very minimal amount in your drink, 1/8th of a teaspoon is good)
White Cream Soda
Vanilla Ice Cream
Candy Canes
Honey

How to make:

Crush up candy canes (4-5 for 4 floats) with a food prosessor or a clean dish towel and hammer

Rim your glass with candy canes by dipping the glass in honey and following by dipping it in the candy canes

Fill glass about 3/4 of the way, add peppermint extract, add a scoop of ice cream, gently mix. (You can add more ice cream or cream soda if your glass is not full)
