Last Thursday I attended the Alexa Pope pop-up shop upstairs at the Shops at Mills in Halifax. As I’m sure many of you have heard, there is a new take-over in town and its online! Amy, one of the 3 co-owners of alexapope.ca and a Fashion Marketing graduate from La Salle University, told me that they really wanted their customers to have that touch and feel experience before Alexa Pope is available strictly online. She also told me that she felt Canadians are still skeptical about shopping online, so the pop-up shop was the best way of communicating on a personal level with customers. The best part about alexapope.ca is that when you purchase online, shipping is free. This is great for Canadians as high shipping costs can easily turn the customer away from making a purchase online. Similar brands such as Nasty Gal from the US have already been successful with this concept, and it’s about time that the Canadian market took a piece of that pie. The girls want Alexa Pope to be known not just in Nova Scotia, but across Canada. Alexa Pope sells accessible clothing at a reasonable price point that can be dressed up with a pair of heels, or street styled with a pair of converse sneakers. Alexa Pope is “fashion not for the faint of heart.” I have to say, the girls really know who their customer is and have stuck with pieces that are not readily available in Halifax and across Canada. Edgy graphic T’s and accessories can easily be worn with a girly tulle skirt to give serious attitude to the Alexa Pope girl. Amazing job ladies!
